Whether you prefer a lavish ceremony or a small intimate location, or if you want your big day themed and you dream of having Elvis send you on your way, all weddings are and will be, different for everyone.
As a couple, you may not necessarily be a teenage size zero and matching hunk that a fashion magazine editor only seems to believe in. The real world means you could be any age and any size, because everyone is different.
I believe in the beauty and spontaneity of real people - real weddings in real places, with real situations creating real emotions. If you want relentless high-fashion style wedding photography, I suggest you look elsewhere as that approach leaves me stone-cold bored. Yes, I can do it, but I like a natural approach because it's more about personalities; emotion, fun, sometimes quirky and other times very passionate! Every picture tells a story, as the couple and guests provide plenty of beauty and spectacular sparkle on their own!
There is nothing particularly flash about what I do, I just quietly photograph what I see and let you get on with your wedding day!
A Quick Bit About Me...
I have been a Documentary Style Wedding Photographer since 2011, based near a little village called Crawshawbooth in East Lancs, and I generally cover Cheshire, Lancashire, Manchester, the Lake District and Yorkshire. I will go further afield if required, as I have bases in Birmingham, Durham and Whitby. Commissions even further away or abroad are no problem at all!
Also a graphic designer (since 1990), so my wedding albums look super extra special without the need for ostentatious and expensive decorative features. Just good, solid, understated books, gorgeously designed with beautifully simple covers, and not a tacky balloon in sight!
As for photography competition awards, I have won 15 since 2014 with the BIPP North West. There are more details about that on my History page!
Other Little Details About Me...
Originally from Sutton Coldfield in the West Midlands, I have been a long suffering Villa fan since the days when we were good - how long ago was that(?) - about the time I bought my first camera, a 1984 Canon AE-1 Program!
I also do commercial photography - since 2004, but a growing passion is Wildlife Photography - especially puffins! This has become so serious that I launched another side to my business in 2016. See www.thepuffinman.co.uk for details and some fantastic pictures!
Who are my influential photographers? Well, we could go on and on! Dry humoured photographic illustrator Martin Parr for his constant drive to be non-conformist, Sebastiao Salgado for his sense of drama and compositional prowess, Bruce Gilden for appreciating and photographing the underdog, war photographer Don McCullin for his brutal honesty and Franz Lanting for his angle on all aspects of nature photography.

It can be a problem forking out big lumps for everything, so I thought it would be a nice touch to have this facility! See the Wedding Prices page!
